You currently have a big problem if you have to take your car to the garage because a stone marten has been tinkering with the wiring harness. It takes weeks or sometimes months for the garage to get a new one. Many other auto parts are also hard to come by. Just ask the police. Part of the police car fleet is idle due to technical defects, which cannot be fixed without new parts.<\/p>\n

“It is now rowing with the oars that are available, but it is painful that there is no end to the problem for the time being. As in other sectors, the supply problem is difficult now,” Maarten Brink of the police union ACP told De Telegraaf<\/a>.<\/p>\n

No new cars<\/h2>\n

The police are suffering from even more supply problems. Police<\/a> cars that are written off cannot be replaced because new cars are simply not available. Currently, the police in the Netherlands drive three types of vehicles: rapid intervention vehicles, surveillance vans and arrestee buses . The most common police car is the Mercedes-Benz B-Class. The police van is a Mercedes-Benz Vito, with a four-cylinder diesel engine. For high-speed car chases, police use an Audi A6.<\/p>\n
