The Mehari was designed as a compact, inexpensive and practical car for the French countryside and was also used as an army vehicle. It was a popular car in France and was also exported to other countries.<\/p>\n<h2>Mehari  <\/h2>\n<p>Based on the chassis of the 2CV, the M\u00e9hari has a lightweight plastic body. The design is very simple, with an open cabin and two seats. So not a car for winter sports. Indeed, it has no roof, although optional hard or soft roofs were available. Under the hood is an air-cooled twin-cylinder boxer engine from the 2CV. Its top speed is 110 km\/h. It was also a popular choice for beachgoers and water sports enthusiasts because it was easy to clean and had good resistance to water. Today, you still regularly encounter it in southern European seaside resorts. It has become a bit of a fashion accessory.  <\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-content\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1140\" height=\"861\" src=\"https:\/\/autorai.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/citroen_mehari_4_4_3_0000004110e20cbf-1140x861.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-143617\"><\/figure>\n<h2>Manufacturing<\/h2>\n<p>The M\u00e9hari remained in production until 1987, and although it was never a mass-production car, more than 150,000 were built. In the 1980s, the M\u00e9hari was replaced by the Citro\u00ebn AX 4\u00d74, a small SUV with all-wheel drive.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-content\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1140\" height=\"760\" src=\"https:\/\/autorai.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/citroen_mehari_87-1140x760.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-143614\"><\/figure>\n<h2>Aftermarket<\/h2>\n<p>Although the M\u00e9hari is no longer in production, it remains a popular car among classic vehicle enthusiasts. It is an iconic design and is still used as a leisure vehicle in France and other countries. There are also many aftermarket parts available for the M\u00e9hari, making it easy to maintain and restore the vehicle.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-content\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1140\" height=\"843\" src=\"https:\/\/autorai.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/citroen_mehari_4_4_00530071075b0570-1140x843.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-143616\"><\/figure>\n<h2>e-M\u00e9hari<\/h2>\n<p>There are also some modern references to the M\u00e9hari in the automotive world. In 2016, Citro\u00ebn launched a special edition of the C3 called &#8220;C3 Aircross,&#8221; which has stylistic features of the M\u00e9hari, such as the plastic body and open cab.  <a href=\"https:\/\/autorai.nl\/speciale-citroen-ami-in-slechts-18-minuten-uitverkocht\/\">Citro\u00ebn<\/a> has also launched an open electric car in 2019, the e-M\u00e9hari, which is inspired by the classic M\u00e9hari.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-content\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1140\" height=\"849\" src=\"https:\/\/autorai.nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/citroen_e-mehari_84_007600000e4f0aaa-1140x849.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-143615\"><\/figure>\n<h2>Buying tips<\/h2>\n<p>The year of construction of the <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/klczJXdW59M\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Citro\u00ebn<\/a> M\u00e9hari does not say everything about the quality of the car. Because the M\u00e9hari is modular, the chassis or sheet metal, for example, may be younger or older. Mileage also does not say a huge amount with the Citro\u00ebn M\u00e9hari. This is because the counter has only 5 digits, so chances are you can put a &#8220;1&#8221; in front of the mileage displayed.
