What’s going on at Sono Motors?<\/h2>\n

Sono did not raise enough money<\/a>. The company allegedly did not sufficiently explain to investors why the Zion is really needed and that it is in huge demand. To make matters worse, the global crisis is causing most investors to avoid risk-taking and look to more mature companies. Investors tell Sono Motors not to build the car, restructure the company and lay off 70% of its people. “If we can meet the campaign goal and raise enough money, we can create a positive domino effect. The investment from individuals should enable Sono to continue to find new investors and pay for the remaining machinery, tools and production facilities to achieve the planned pre-series production in 2023. The ultimate goal is to achieve large-scale production in 2024.”<\/p>\n

‘WE FAILED’<\/h2>\n

The way Sono Motors shares its problems with the world is quite extraordinary. On social media, the company wrote “WE FAILED” in large chocolate letters. This causes a stir. Some think it is unwise because it means losing confidence in Sono. On the contrary, others find it brave that Sono is being candid about the situation. In any case, the future of the Zion is in jeopardy and the question is whether the car will actually make it to the production stage. Solar Panels<\/h2>\n

The Zion is a solar electric vehicle. The car can charge itself with solar energy. It is equipped with a 54 kWh battery, good for a total range of 305 kilometers.
