‘Long-tail’ body for 2023 Ford GT Mk IV<\/h2>\n

The 2023 Ford GT Mk IV features a specially prepared twin-turbo EcoBoost engine with more than 800 horsepower. Other features of this extreme Ford GT include a racing transmission, carbon fiber “long tail” body as well as Adaptive Spool Valve (ASV) suspension from Multimatic. The car’s wheelbase is also a bit longer compared to the Ford GT street version<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Manufacturing at Multimatic<\/h2>\n

The edition of the 2023 Ford GT Mk IV is limited to 67 copies. This is a nod to the year the original Mk IV won the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Each car is built by hand at Multimatic’s factory in Markham, Ontario. <\/p>\n

Interested parties can register through this special website<\/a>. The starting recommended retail price of the supercar is $1.7 million, excluding taxes. Customer selection will take place in the first quarter of 2023. Delivery will begin in late spring 2023.<\/p>\n

Really radical bodywork<\/h2>\n

“Multimatic’s mission was clear: create the most extreme ‘final’ version of the Ford GT. The Mk IV is the result,” said Larry Holt, executive vice president, Multimatic Special Vehicle Operations Group. “A unique engine with a larger displacement, a true racing gearbox, an extended wheelbase and a truly radical body resulted in an unprecedented level of performance.”<\/p>\n

FIA Appendix J rules.<\/h2>\n

Ford has looked at new material science, among other things. Engineers at Ford and Kar Kraft thus developed a new lightweight chassis using a bonded honeycomb aluminum construction with a more aerodynamic body. The result was christened “J-Car” because the chassis was built according to the new FIA Appendix J rules.<\/p>\n
