Is Rivian also coming to Europe?<\/h2>\n

The American car brand is busy preparing to sell the R1T and R1S on European soil as well. Talks are reportedly underway between the American brand and VDL Nedcar in Limburg to produce the models locally. That the brand takes Europe seriously is evident from the many vacancies it has open in Europe. A remarkable number of vacancies relate to the Netherlands.<\/p>\n

Young player<\/h2>\n

Rivian is a relatively young player in the car market. The company was founded in 2009 by Robert Scaringe. The brand began developing a modular skateboard chassis on which Rivian can build various models. At the time of writing, those are the R1T and R1S. There are many more models coming in the future. Rivian also has a deal with Amazon to produce about 100,000 units of the EDV, the first electric van from this American car brand.<\/p>\n

Prices from Rivian<\/h2>\n

The R1S has a price tag of $78,000 in America, but with some options, that price rises rapidly to just under $100,000. The R1T electric pickup will cost a minimum of $73,000. The official US range estimate for the large quad motor battery pack comes out to 314 miles for R1T and 316 miles for R1S, which is 502 and 505 kilometers, respectively. Rivian also supplies the R1T with a Max Battery Pack (additional cost $16,000). The range then comes out to 400 miles, converting to about 640 kilometers. The figures mentioned are according to the so-called EPA rating. This differs from the European WLTP measurement method and is slightly more stringent\/realistic.
