The Volkswagen Golf 6 GTI<\/h2>\n

The Volkswagen Golf GTI is a sporty compact car produced by Volkswagen since the mid-1970s. The designation “GTI” stands for “Grand Turismo Injection . Since 1975, Volkswagen has used this name for the fast versions of their models. They also use the letters GTI for the Volkswagen Polo<\/a>, for example. The first Golf GTI had a top speed of 182 km\/h and did an acceleration from 0 to 100 km\/h in 9 seconds. Thanks in part to a 110-hp strength 1.6-liter four-cylinder. The Golf 6 GTI, five generations younger that is, logically makes mincemeat of that performance. It was produced from 2008 until 2012, when it was replaced by the Golf 7 GTI.<\/p>\n

Engine and performance of the Golf 6 GTI<\/h2>\n

The Golf GTI is powered by a 2.0-liter TSI turbocharged engine. The TSI engine is turbocharged, so the car produces a considerable amount of torque even from low revs, 260 Nm to be exact. As standard, the Golf 6 GTI has 210 hp from the four-cylinder. With that, the hatchback pops from standstill to 100 km\/h in 6.9 seconds with the six-speed manual transmission and in 6.7 seconds with the DSG automatic. Top speed is 240 km\/h for both.<\/p>\n

The Golf 6 GTI also comes with six-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission. The DSG automatic has many fans because of its super-fast shift times. The automatic not only makes the GOLF 6 GTI a faster GTI, but also notes more favorable consumption scores compared to the manual version. The DSG can also be operated manually with shift paddles behind the steering wheel.<\/p>\n

The most prominent feature of the exterior design of the Golf 6 GTI (and GTIs in general) is the red stripe near the honeycomb grille. Furthermore, the 6 GTI has a much broader appearance than the non-GTI versions. The Golf 6 GTI is 4.2 meters long, 1.47 meters high and 1.78 meters wide. The gasoline tank has a capacity of 55 liters and the luggage space is 350 liters. The latter can be increased to 1305 liters with the rear seats folded down.<\/p>\n

Golf 6 GTI vs. Volkswagen Golf 6 R20<\/h2>\n

The sixth-generation Volkswagen Golf<\/a> came as an R20 in addition to the GTI. The R20 was the most powerful version of the Golf. Consequently, the R20 has more power and standard 4Motion all-wheel drive to get the power on the road. The R20 has different bumpers and rims than the Golf 6 GTI.
