End of production Renault Zoe<\/h2>\n

Exactly when the last Renault Zoe will roll off the assembly line is not yet known. That it will happen, however, is certain. The Zoe’s place will be taken in 2024 by the all-electric reincarnation of the Renault 5<\/a>. A year later, the new Renault 4<\/a> was added. That’s quite a few electric cars in a row, and the Zoe simply becomes obsolete in that case.<\/p>\n

At least the Zoe can face its end with its head held high. We were first introduced to the electric Renault in 2012. Alongside Nissan and BMW, Renault was one of the first manufacturers to join the field of compact electric transport. The Zoe needed a bit of a run-up, but was Europe’s best-selling EV in 2015 and 2016. Over the years, the Zoe’s performance got better and better, and in 2019 it received another facelift, although the Zoe never really looked dated.<\/p>\n

Clio and Captur remain, but not electric<\/h2>\n

So at the lower end, Renault’s electric lineup will consist of the Renault 4 and 5. Except for the Zoe, Renault is not saying goodbye to any models for the time being. Thus, the Clio and Captur remain available for the time being. “In most markets, the compact segment will be all-electric,” Cambolive said. “But if necessary, we will have the Clio and Captur as well. Those cars will have a hybrid powertrain, which is our choice of replacing the ‘normal’ fuel engine.” In short, we need not expect an all-electric Clio and Captur.<\/p>\n
