Moto Morini was founded in 1937 by Alfonso Morini. The brand became known for its sporting successes in the 1960s and 1970s. Legendary rider Giacomo Agostini chose a Moto Morini 175 as his first racing bike. For the road you had the famous 3 \u00bd, powered by a V-Twin 72\u00b0 engine designed by Franco Lambertini. The V-twin was the trademark of the primal Italian brand for many years.<\/p>\n

Relaunch Moto Morini<\/h2>\n

After the 1200 CorsaCorta models in the first decade of this century, it became somewhat quiet around the brand. It lacked sales and finances. Then you can do two things: quit or find a lender. Finally, the Zhongneng Vehicle Group in China acquired Moto Morini in 2018. The X-CAPE is the first creation. At about five dealers in the Netherlands you can buy it since this year. That works out quite well, because for a price starting at around 8,500 euros you get a very complete bike that is assembled with top stuff.<\/p>\n

Gold Wheels Edition as a party version<\/h2>\n

The party version Moto Morini X-CAPE Gold Wheels Edition is the version with spoked wheels but with gold-colored rims. Other than that, nothing has changed. So you get a motorcycle that handles well thanks to a strong steel Trellis frame, a fine Marzocchi fork and an upright seating position. Your fists hold a wide and pleasantly placed handlebar, and the Brembo brakes slow down well and are well-dosed. Other up-to-the-minute touches include the 7-inch color display, Bluetooth connectivity, tire pressure monitoring and a disabling ABS for some wilder off-road exploits.<\/p>\n

Block of Kawasaki<\/h2>\n

The twin-cylinder block is impeccable and enjoys a reliable reputation. It does, in fact, stem from Kawasaki. With this brand, it delivers a little more power. Moto Morini has scaled that back by 6 hp so that the maximum now comes out to 60 hp. The torque is 56 Nm. By the way, Moto Morini recently announced a second model with this engine: a naked bike, the Moto Morini Sieemmezzo. It has been unveiled, but not yet priced. The X-CAPE Gold Wheels Edition is: it costs \u20ac9,499.<\/p>\n
