Two electric motors for Volkswagen ID.7 Tourer GTX
The Volkswagen ID.7 Tourer GTX has two electric motors: one drives the front axle, the other the rear axle. Thus, each ID.7 Tourer GTX four-wheel drive. System power is 250 kW (340 hp). So you’re looking at Volkswagen’s most powerful station wagon ever. Top speed is electronically limited at 180 km/h.
New 86 kWh battery pack
The new 86 kWh lithium-ion battery pack is standard on the GTX and raises the bar on all fronts. Thus, the expected range for the ID.7 Tourer GTX is 625 kilometers according to the WLTP test standard. It is capable of fast charging with 200 kW, where the maximum for an ID. model until now was 175 kW. Recharging the battery pack from 10-80% takes significantly less than 30 minutes under ideal conditions.
4Motion
The 4Motion all-wheel drive system allows variable distribution of drive power, with electronic limited slip differentials (XDS+) as standard. 4Motion all-wheel drive has the added bonus that an ID.7 Tourer GTX has a higher towing weight (the exact towing weight is not yet known). Progressive steering is also included, and with a choice of driving modes, the ideal setup can be chosen for every ride: from extremely comfortable to very dynamic. Adapative Chassis Control (DCC) is optional.
Design Volkswagen ID.7 Tourer GTX
With specific GTX accents like the new bumper, a grille in honeycomb design, body elements in high-gloss black and 20-inch “Skagen” alloy wheels (21-inch optional), the streamlined appearance of the new ID.7 Tourer a sporty touch. IQ.Light LED matrix headlights and illuminated Volkswagen logos front and rear are standard. A new GTX feature is the arrowhead-shaped daytime running lights. Furthermore, the ID.7 Tourer GTX available with a large panoramic glass roof with smart glass. This roof switches from transparent to opaque or vice versa after a button press or voice command.
What about space?
The ID.7 Tourer GTX has a wheelbase of 2.97 meters, offering plenty of space for five occupants alone. The luggage compartment already measures 605 liters as standard and even 1,714 liters with the rear seats folded down. The cargo area then has a length of as much as 1.95 meters. Also thanks to the width of 1.00 meters between the wheel arches, large objects are easy to load.
Equipment Volkswagen ID.7 Tourer GTX
The interior of the ID.7 Tourer GTX is sporty. The special seats are heated, upholstered in a combination of fabric and ArtVelours and finished with a perforated GTX logo and red stitching. The multi-function sports steering wheel also has red stitching along with other red accents and GTX lettering. Also included in the rich standard equipment are an augmented reality head-up display, ambient lighting (30 colors), three-zone automatic Climatronic air conditioning, keyless access and an alarm system.
Also with Wellness app
For the Volkswagen ID.7 Tourer GTX is a new Wellness app available. This contributes to well-being during the ride and during (loading) breaks. Depending on the program selected (Fresh Up, Calm Down and Power Break), the app controls ambient lighting, sound volume, air conditioning, seat massage and ventilation functions and the panoramic roof, among others.
Driver assistance systems
High-performance assistance systems carry in the ID.7 Tourer GTX contribute to comfortable, safe and relaxed riding in all conditions. Park Assist Plus with memory function is available as an option. This allows fully automatic parking at distances of up to 50 meters, for example at home. Integrated into Travel Assist are Lane Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control ACC and Emergency Assist. It also uses online data for even more precise and smooth operation. Side Assist (blind spot warning) is also standard.
If the ID.7 Tourer GTX is stationary, Exit Warning when opening doors warns of any traffic approaching from behind. In extreme cases, Exit Warning can stop the doors from opening for a while. To quickly and appropriately warn of, for example, collisions, traffic jams or work on the route, the ID.7 Tourer GTX use of Car2X. This gives the car information from other cars on the route as well as the infrastructure. By default, each ID.7 features Tourer GTX over Emergency Brake, Front Assist and Dynamic Road Sign display.
Market launch
The new ID.7 Tourer GTX is expected in the Netherlands this summer. Awards will be announced in mid-May.
