Triumph TXP: learned young…

The age of motorcyclists is rising. An aging population is setting in. But Triumph is making a valiant effort to change that. By getting kids into the saddle early, so they can discover the joys of riding through play. The century-old motorcycle manufacturer is presenting four electric two-wheelers for growing youngsters aged 3 to 10 plus.

Triumph TXP-12

The tiny TXP-12 is designed for children ages 3 to 5. With its lightweight steel frame, the TXP-12 weighs only 22 kg. With its low saddle height of only 360 mm in Trials mode and 445 mm in Explore mode, kids can have their feet firmly on the ground. The TXP-12 features a 600W/43V motor. The battery provides up to three hours of riding fun. An integrated LED panel displays the status of the battery making it easy for riders and parents to monitor usage. You can remove the battery to charge it indoors.

Limited speed

Maximum power and speed can be set via a keypad accessible with a PIN code. Up to 23 km/h is possible. The throttle response can also be set in four levels so parents can maintain control. A magnetic safety cord and a two-step start procedure add some additional safety.

Triumph TXP-16

For riders aged 5 to 7, the TXP-16 is designed with more power, better suspension and a slightly larger chassis. The 765W and 43V strong engine delivers more torque and a top speed of 30 mph. The TXP-16 features hydraulic brake discs for stronger and more progressive stopping power and has a slightly larger steel frame with a 720mm wheelbase for more stability.

Growing up riders

The TXP-16 is designed for growing riders. It weighs only 26.2 kg in Trials set-up. The ergonomics are very well thought out. With a saddle height of 550 mm in Xplore mode and 450 mm in Trials mode, it remains easy to handle.

Triumph TX-20

The TXP-20 takes another step further. Intended for riders ages 7 to 10 who are ready to take on more technical terrain and participate in youth competitions. With a powerful 1,200W motor and a strong 50V, 20Ah lithium battery, the TXP-20 offers extended range, a top speed of 35km/h and more torque for off-road riding. Young riders can color the TX-20’s driving character through four riding modes. This is already starting to look like a real adult motorcycle.

Big step in suspension

In terms of suspension, the TXP-20 takes a big step forward. With an air-suspension front fork with 125 mm of travel and a monoshock rear suspension with 120 mm of travel, both with adjustable damping. The larger steel chassis has a wheelbase of 1,085mm and weighs 40.7kg. Hydraulic brakes with 180mm discs front and rear offer strong and reliable stopping power.

Higher seating position

On the TXP-20, the seat height is 525 mm in Trials mode and 700 mm in Xplore mode. Ground clearance is 255 mm, with a confident foot position and ability to adjust for different riding styles a skills. In addition to its unique modular setup, the TXP-20 also features read-out electronics so that the engine can be serviced quickly and easily using fault codes and maintenance messages.

Triumph TXP-24

The TXP-24 is the most powerful model in the TXP series for riders ages 10 and up. This bike offers real off-road capabilities and sharp performance for slightly older youngsters and also adults up to 90kg. It features a 1,600W motor coupled with a 50V, 28Ah lithium battery and reaches a top speed of 38.5km/h.

Stepping up to real work

The TXP-24 bridges the gap to a full-size motorcycle. The steel frame is the largest of the TXP range with a wheelbase of 1,220 mm, 305 mm of ground clearance and a weight of 48.1 kg. The suspension is fully adjustable, with 160 mm of travel on the front fork and 145 mm on the rear suspension. The hydraulic braking system has been upgraded to a four-piston system with 203 mm front and 180 mm rear discs. Despite its capabilities, the TXP-24 remains very accessible. Ergonomics are geared to slightly older youths and adults, with a saddle height of 635 mm in Trials mode and 810 mm in Xplore mode.

Triumph TXPs can be ordered through Triumph dealers. Orders through the end of October 2025 will be delivered before Christmas.
