This will be the new competitor to EV9 and Ioniq 9 – Skoda Peaq

January 13, 2026

With the Peaq, Skoda is taking a clear step up with its own electric model lineup. Whereas the Enyaq has so far represented the brand in the higher EV segment, the Peaq should show how Skoda thinks about space, comfort and electric driving on a large scale. In other words, the Peaq represents the new peak.

Skoda Peaq gets something from Vision 7S Concept

The Peaq is not a complete unknown. In fact, the car is derived from the Vision 7S Concept, which Skoda previously showed as a glimpse of the brand’s electric future and design direction. Important to emphasize: the images we show here are still from that concept car.

So these are not final photos of the production version of the Peaq. What the car will actually end up looking like remains guesswork for now. Presumably, however, there are similarities with the future Octavia.

The same goes for the technology. Specifications such as battery size, range, payload and engine variants have not yet been announced.

Skoda Peaq’s role in brand’s lineup

What has been established, however, is the role the Skoda Peaq should have within the range. Skoda explicitly calls the model its top electric model. In doing so, the brand clearly positions the SUV alongside cars such as the Kia EV9 and Hyundai Ioniq 9. These are all large electric SUVs that aim not only for looks, but also for space and everyday practicality.

That the Peaq will be a seven-seater is in keeping with Skoda’s tradition. The brand is known for practical solutions, plenty of interior space and clever details. That philosophy should also hold true for this new flagship model, but wrapped in an all-electric jacket and a size that Skoda has not yet had in production. The next few months should reveal exactly how big the step will be.
