This new car brand suddenly catches on massively

April 1, 2026

Omoda Jaecoo registered a total of 1,302 cars in the first three months of 2026. With an average of more than 400 models sold per month, the automaker is currently among the best-selling Chinese brands in the Netherlands. And that is quite handsome for a brand that has only been active in our country since September 2025.

Growth is supported in part by the expanding dealer network. The number of showrooms will rise to 30 this year, providing national coverage. According to the importer, the network plays an important role in introducing the brand to the Dutch public. At the same time, investments are being made in personnel, service and new branches to facilitate further growth.

One brand, two faces

Omoda Jaecoo positions itself as one brand with two faces. Under the Omoda and Jaecoo brand names, the company carries two model lines. The model range consists of (plug-in) hybrid and electric SUVs that respond to the demand for efficiency and practicality, with a relatively large electric range. In doing so, the brand targets a broad target group, from business drivers to families switching to electrified driving.

The Jaecoo 7 SHS-P is the most popular model with 836 registrations in the first quarter of 2026. This plug-in hybrid SUV has an electric range of up to 90 kilometers and a total range of about 1,200 kilometers. Other models such as the Omoda 9, Omoda 5 and Jaecoo 5 also contribute to the total volume. The second quarter will see the introduction of the Jaecoo 8 SHS-P, a larger SUV with seven seats with which the brand expects to reach a new target market.
