February 6, 2023

Elegant

The Velar has been on the market since 2017, so it’s time for a rejuvenation cure. The SUV received a new grille and a pair of new LED headlights. The rear lighting is also new, and according to the brand, the three-dimensional taillights are “intense” red. Furthermore, you can recognize the updated Velar at the rear by its new bumper. No exhaust pipes now protrude from under the bumper, making the rear end look extra sleek and elegant. There are also two new body colors: Metallic Varesine Blue and Premium Metallic Zadar Grey.

Interior

On the inside, we detect a new “floating” and glass touchscreen of 11.4 inches with a curved shape. Running on the screen is the latest version of the Pivi Pro infotainment system. The system is already familiar from other Land Rover models and is very easy to operate. About 80% of tasks are accomplished with one or two taps on the home screen.

Leather-free

The Range Rover Velar is available with a leather-free interior, featuring new seat designs and materials. The leather-free option combines wool blend from Danish textile expert Kvadrat with inserts from Ultrafabrics textiles. The fabric can take a beating. Not only did it undergo 60,000 cycles of wear tests – equivalent to ten years of use – but also tests with UV radiation for one month, equivalent to three years of continuous exposure to bright sunlight.

Under the skin, improvements have also been made. For example, the Velar P400e plug-in hybrid has a 20% larger battery with a total capacity of 19.2 kWh, good for an all-electric range of up to 64 kilometers. The outgoing PHEV model got as far as 53 kilometers on a full battery. In addition to the PHEV, you can also choose regular gasoline and diesel engines. The engine lineup of the updated Range Rover Velar is as follows:

Electric Hybrid

Gasoline

Diesel

The updated Velar has a starting price of 85,510 euros. In the configurator you can configure it to your taste.
