This is Alpine’s new F1 driver: Jack Doohan
Jack who?
Who is Jack Doohan, you ask?
He is the son of Mick Doohan, a five-time world 500cc motorcycle racing champion.
But Jack has made his own mark on four wheels, and not by much.
He is the first member of the Alpine Academy to receive a permanent racing seat.
After a successful career as a junior in international single-seater classes, he has been a reserve rider for the Alpine team for the past two years.
Highlight
He excelled in Formula 2, with a particular highlight at the 2023 Hungarian Grand Prix, where he left everything and everyone behind and won everything – from pole position to the fastest lap.
Now it’s time for the real thing.
He will be racing alongside the now experienced Pierre Gasly.
Jack cannot wait to put on his gloves for good: “The step to a full-time racing seat in 2025 is a dream come true. The confidence of the team means a lot to me and I am totally ready to work really hard and give everything. This is a special moment for my family and me and I am hugely grateful to everyone who has supported me.”
Team boss Oliver Oakes is also delighted with this fresh addition: “We are extremely pleased that Jack now has the opportunity to showcase his talent in Formula One. He brings the perfect mix of young enthusiasm and experience and we look forward to working with him and Pierre to push the team to new heights.”
