December 27, 2024

Kia EV5

We kick off this list with the Kia EV5. You can think of it as the bigger brother of the EV3 and the smaller brother of the EV9. It is on the E-GMP platform and count on a range of about 500 to 600 kilometers.

A futuristic light gray SUV, the Kia EV5 has a sleek, angular design and eye-catching LED lights that contrast effortlessly against a plain background.

Hyundai Inster

After the Dacia Spring, Citroën ë-C3 and Renault 5, Hyundai is now coming out with an affordable EV: the Hyundai Inster comes starting at 24,295 euros. Its range, on paper, ranges from 327 km to 370 km, depending on the battery chosen. It has a sliding rear seat, which is quite special in this segment. In addition, the front seats fold down, allowing you to sleep in them. The car will come to the Netherlands in the first quarter of 2025.

Hyundai IONIQ 9

The Hyundai IONIQ 9 is a giant seven-seat electric SUV. You can think of it as the brother of the Kia EV9, but its specifications are slightly different. For example, the Hyundai is available with a massive 110 kWh battery pack, giving it a WLTP range of up to 620 kilometers.

Volkswagen Tayron

The Volkswagen Tayron will be the successor to the Tiguan All Space. It stands on the platform of the Tiguan and Passat, and there is a choice of five or seven seats. Volkswagen is offering the Tayron in the Netherlands with two plug-in hybrid powertrains and a mild-hybrid powertrain. With power ratings of 150, 204 or 272 hp. The 204-horsepower plug-in hybrid has the lowest starting price, at 52,490 euros.

Skoda Elroq

Recently we got to drive the first production models abroad, and by early 2025 it will already be at the dealership: the Skoda Elroq. You can think of it as the little brother of the Skoda Enyaq, but it is not really small. It has 100 liters less luggage space than the Enyaq, but otherwise it is almost the same size. Its price starts from just under 35,000 euros.

Volkswagen ID.2

It should finally hit the market in 2025: Volkswagen ID.2. You can think of this compact electric hatchback as an electric alternative to the Volkswagen Polo. It has front-wheel drive and stands on the MEB Entry platform, but many more specifications are not yet known. According to Volkswagen, it will have a starting price of less than 25,000 euros and we should count on a range of up to 450 kilometers

Mercedes-Benz CLA

An all-new Mercedes-Benz CLA will hit the market in 2025. It will come with both hybrid and all-electric drivetrains. The electric version will travel up to 750 kilometers and can recharge as much as 300 kilometers in 10 minutes.

Range Rover EV

The Range Rover Electric is an – how could it be otherwise – electric version of the new Range rover. On the outside, you see little difference between the two models. The electric version has a closed grille, but everything else looks the same. Technical specifications we don’t have yet, unfortunately. Later the brand will also introduce an electric Range Rover Sport.

Renault 5

We were already allowed to drive it abroad in the fall of 2024, and in the meantime there are already a few on yellow license plates, but in 2025 you will only really see it on the road: the new Renault 5. The new 5 is fully electric and has a maximum range of 400 kilometers (WLTP). It has a starting price of 27,990 euros, but later in 2025 there will be a base version that should cost just under 25,000 euros.

Renault 4

After the Renault 5, the Renault 4 will also make a comeback in 2025. It shares its technology with the Renault 5 but is a size larger and therefore offers more space for families. You can get it with a huge fabric folding roof and, like the Renault 5, it has a range of up to 400 kilometers.

Dacia Bigster

The Dacia Bigster is a new SUV from Dacia. You can think of it as the big brother of the new Dacia Duster. But really a bigger brother, because it is no less than 23 centimeters longer than the Duster. Like many Dacia models, you can get it with a gasoline engine that also likes LPG. Hybrid powertrains are also available.

DS N°8

The DS N°8 is a luxury electric crossover with a range of no less than 750 kilometers. It is a real DS, with an interior richly equipped with high-quality materials. We had a chance to sit in it and believe us: this is a car for people who value comfort.

Suzuki e Vitara

In the summer of 2025, Suzuki will start selling the e Vitara in the Netherlands. According to the brand, it will get about 400 kilometers far on a full battery and you can recharge it to 80% full within half an hour, thanks to a charging capacity of 150 kW. Its price is not yet known, but we are betting on a starting price of 34,000 to 35,000 euros.

Toyota Urban Cruiser

The Urban Cruiser name returns to Toyota’s lineup. The Toyota Urban Cruiser is a compact crossover produced between 2008 and 2014. The new Urban Cruiser is also a compact SUV, but is fully electric. It is the technical brother of the Suzuki e Vitara and shares many parts with the Suzuki, such as the battery packs, for example.

Citroën C5 Aircross

In 2025, Citroen will introduce an all-new C5 Aircross. The car you see below is a concept car, but count on the production model not looking very different. It shares its technology with the Peugeot 3008, 5008 and Opel Grandland, so count on hybrid, plug-in hybrid and all-electric powertrains.
