The Vauxhall Astra Coupe 888 looks racy and is very rare!
Vauxhall Astra Coupe 888
The Vauxhall Astra Coupe 888 was inspired by the Triple Eight team’s success in the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) with the Vauxhall Astra Coupe.
Only 100 examples of the model were built.
The Triple Eight team was closely involved in the development of the model.
Powerful turbocharged gasoline engine
The engine of the Astra Coupe Turbo has not actually been tinkered with.
So the 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine still delivers 140 kW (190 hp) and is mated to a five-speed manual transmission.
So what has been modified?
OZ Racing alloy wheels
The car features lowered Eibach suspension and shock absorbers, a BTCC-inspired body kit, 17-inch OZ Racing alloy wheels and a redesigned interior with handsome fairings.
Also be sure to note the rear spoiler and sport exhaust.
Europe Blue
The top speed of the Vauxhall Astra Coupe ‘triple eight’ is 245 km/h and the new price in 2000 came to £20,995.
All 100 examples were painted in the color Europa Blue combined with a black/blue interior.
Nowadays, the version is sought after among collectors.
This particular car is part of the Vauxhall Heritage Collection.
