The Jogger Hybrid is the first hybrid from Dacia

January 30, 2023

83,000 orders

In March 2022, Dacia introduced its new seven-passenger family car: the Jogger. The car is falling well with the public, 83,000 orders have already been placed worldwide and more than 51,000 are already on the road. According to the brand, two in three Jogger customers choose the highest level of equipment, while in 55% of cases the seven-seat variant is chosen. As standard, the Jogger is a five-seater; for an additional row of seats, you pay about 1,000 euros.

Two-thirds of customers choose the TCe 100 ECO-G engine variant. This “bi-fuel” version likes both gasoline and LPG. Starting in the spring, customers can opt for a new engine variant: the Hybrid 140. It is the first Dacia with hybrid technology. The hybrid system uses Renault Group technology and consists of a 1.6-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine, two electric motors and an electrified automatic gearbox with four transmissions for the combustion engine and two for the electric motor. A complex piece of engineering, then, that we already know from the Nissan Juke Hybrid and the Renault Clio and Captur E-Tech Hybrid.

Battery

The Dacia Jogger Hybrid 140 is equipped with an automatic transmission with a “B” (“Brake”) mode that enhances the operation and degree of deceleration of the regenerative braking system. So just like a fully electric car, this hybrid Jogger can also brake on the engine. In B mode, this recovers additional energy, which the car can use again during acceleration, for example. This allows the Jogger to be up to 80 percent fully electric in urban driving, according to the brand. The battery is located under the floor of the luggage compartment, in the place of the spare tire, just like the LPG tank on the ECO-G 100 version.

What does the Dacia Jogger Hybrid cost?

The Dacia Jogger HYBRID 140 will be available in the Netherlands only as a seven-seat variant and has a starting price of 29,650 euros. This makes the Jogger the most affordable seven-seat hybrid family car on the market, but quite a bit more expensive than a Jogger without a hybrid system. In fact, a basic Jogger comes starting at 22,700 euros. For a seven-seat Jogger, you will pay a minimum of 25,700 euros.
