Spectacular Barnfind: 43 Audi’s from the 1980s (AND a mountain of parts)

March 21, 2025

Summer Project

Summer is slowly approaching, and for many car hobbyists that means: time for a new project. If you have a hefty shed and a weakness for Audi’s, you can now get a complete collection in one fell swoop. You will also have to arrange a few shipping containers. After all, the cars are in a yard in upstate New York. You’ll also get a huge pile of parts with them.

A time capsule full of Audi’s

The collection covers models from 1983 to 1991. Almost the entire American Audi offering from that era is among them. Audi 80, 90, 4000, 5000 – everything is there. There is even something among them that closely resembles a Quattro.

Adjusting expectations

From the looks of it, the cars have had a rough time. Most have been outside or under a makeshift carport for years. And the winters in New York State are not mild. Snow, frost and moisture have clearly left their mark. Many of the cars are rusty, dusty and incomplete. Still, it is a gold mine for enthusiasts who are not afraid of a challenge. Also impressive is the huge amount of parts you get with it. Complete suspensions, brake parts, body parts, rims of all kinds, and we estimate about thirty doors.

All or nothing

There is one important condition: everything must go at once. The seller excludes loose sales. No negotiations about one specific Audi or that one box of valve caps. He is looking for one buyer who wants to take over the entire collection – cars and parts. And preferably as soon as possible. The asking price is hefty: about $350,000 (322,000 euros), which amounts to about $8,000 per car – not counting the parts. Bidding can be done here.
