Special transport: Schuppan 962CR P1
Group C
When Group C endurance races captured the hearts of motorsports enthusiasts around the world in the 1980s, numerous road projects emerged. One of the best known is the Schuppan 962CR. This car is based on a Porsche 956/962. The plan was to use a Reynard carbon fiber chassis with bodywork designed by Mike Simcoe.
Six cars built
Unfortunately, the plan did not work and only six cars (two LM models and two CRs) were built. This specimen was the prototype and development car of the project. It is based on a racing machine that had raced at Le Mans in 1990.
Schuppan 962CR P1
Later, this Schuppan 962CR P1 would come into private ownership and spend some time in France before being returned to the United Kingdom, where it has been ever since. The car has been completely refurbished and reupholstered. Reason enough for a “Best of Show” title at London Concours 2023.
