EV requirements for SEPP 2024.
Not all electric passenger cars are eligible for SEPP subsidies. An EV must meet certain requirements, such as a range of at least 120 kilometers (WLTP measured). Furthermore, the new price (list price) of the electric passenger car registered in your name in the vehicle registration register (RDW) must be a minimum of 12,000 to a maximum of 45,000 euros. The list price in the vehicle registration register is leading in this regard for RVO, the body to which you must apply for SEPP.
Important to know
Once the car is delivered, you put it in your name in the vehicle registry. Your car does not have to be delivered yet when you apply for a subsidy. Another important one: the purchased new electric passenger car is in your name for at least three years. This is calculated from the date of first registration and entry in the vehicle registration register. The RFO regularly checks with the RDW whether the electric car is still in your name in the registration register. Do you sell the car earlier than the agreed three years? Then you have to report that to RFO and pay back part of the subsidy.
How a SEPP application proceeds is shown in the chart below.
