Review – Porsche Macan GTS (2026), does it really drive that differently?
Powertrain Porsche Macan GTS
The Porsche Macan GTS is the most powerful model among Turbo versions. But exactly how much power are we talking about? The all-wheel-drive GTS delivers a system output of 420 kW (571 hp) with overboost. Normally, the powertrain delivers 516 hp. The sprint from zero to 100 km/h takes about 3.8 seconds in this 4.8-meter-long Macan, and sprinting from 0 to 200 km/h with launch control takes 13.3 seconds of your life. Top speed comes out at 250 km/h. The torque of this powertrain is particularly impressive: at 955 Nm, it almost ticks the magic 1,000 Nm mark. The braked towing weight is a maximum of 2,500 kilograms.
Range Macan GTS
The WLTP range is up to 586 kilometers. Thanks to 800-volt technology, the Porsche Macan GTS achieves a DC charging power of up to 270 kW. The battery charging level can be increased from 10 to 80 percent in about 21 minutes at a suitable fast charging station. At 400V charging stations, the charging speed reaches 135 kW. With charging comes the following data:

Brakes you rarely use
During driving, energy can be recovered via the electric motors. Thanks to the Porsche Macan GTS’s recuperative power of up to 240 kW, the vast majority of braking in everyday driving is carried out exclusively by the electric motors, without activating the friction brakes. When extremely hard braking does require this, the transition to the hydraulic brakes is almost imperceptible.
The mechanical braking system was adopted from the Porsche Macan Turbo. At the front are aluminum fixed calipers with six pistons and 400 x 38 mm brake discs. The rear features combination brakes with floating calipers and 350 x 30 mm discs. The calipers are finished in red as standard and optionally available in high-gloss black.

How much does that cost?
The starting price of the Porsche Macan GTS is 109,701 euros, about 12,000 euros cheaper than a Macan Turbo and 23,700 euros more expensive than a standard Porsche Macan with 265 kW (360 hp). That base version, by the way, does have the largest range in the entire lineup with 641 kilometers. This GTS has to make do with a maximum range of 586 kilometers. In practice, count on 400 kilometers. Average power consumption varied between 18.8 and 22.9 kWh, depending on how fast you drive. What’s nice is that you can drive this car both quietly and extra sporty. By the way, this particular test car costs 138,871 euros.
Design Porsche Macan GTS
Let’s face it: a Porsche without a hefty dose of sporty looks is like a frikandel without mayo. The new Macan GTS understands this and puts on a tailored suit with a nice lot of black accents. The nose, the flanks, the buttocks – everywhere you spot inky black styling elements. Other notable features include matrix LED units with tinted glasses and sideskirts that flare wider toward the rear. Even the wheel arch extensions and the hefty diffuser with its fins join in on the darker side of the spectrum. To perfect the toned-down looks, the adaptive rear spoiler gets a shiny black lip that matches the dark taillights flawlessly.

Electric asphalt tiger
As standard, this electric tarmac tiger rolls on huge 21-inch alloy wheels, neatly finished in moody Anthracite Gray. Still think that’s a bit too good-natured? Don’t panic, because Porsche will gladly install a set of 22-inch RS Spyder wheels under the car. In terms of paint colors, you can also go wild. In addition to the fifteen standard colors and nearly sixty exclusive shades from the luxury program, there are three fresh flavors on the menu. You can now choose the sleek Crayon, the garish Crimson or – scoop for this model – the downright dazzling Lugano blue. This car is finished in Indian Red. It looks great on him. The brake calipers stand out in bright red as standard, but for those who like to drive more undercover, Porsche lovingly sprays them in a sinister coat of high-gloss black.
Silhouette of an athlete in the starting blocks
Porsche also sprinkles the coveted Sport Design package as standard in this model. With the Macan GTS, not only do you just get this included, it’s served up in a flavor devised exclusively for this version. That means slightly more aggressively lined bumpers at the front and rear. The iconic Porsche flyline, gently sloping hood and wide hips give the bolide the silhouette of an athlete in the starting blocks. Up front, the lighting is cleverly split. The signature four-point daytime running lights are recessed flat and tight in the front fenders to visually pull the lot nice and wide, while the real headlights are tucked away a floor below. At the rear, that famously sloping roofline merges seamlessly with the frameless doors. A three-dimensional light strip – equipped with a matte black Porsche logo, of course – pulls the muscular rear end taut in one high-tech stripe.
Anyway, nice that it looks like a fierce photo model, it should also cut through the wind with some efficiency. It does, because with a favorable drag coefficient of 0.25, this Macan glides through the atmosphere like a bluefin tuna in water. That’s thanks to an arsenal of clever aerodynamic gimmicks, from an automatic retractable rear spoiler and active ventilation louvers in the nose, to a smooth underbody. Smart air curtains under the headlights direct the driving wind to exactly the right places. If you really step on the gas pedal, the air suspension happily sinks through its knees.

Adaptive sport air suspension
The GTS lands standard on an adaptive sport air suspension combined with the renowned Porsche Active Suspension Management, or PASM. That setup has been completely reprogrammed for this particular model and is a full inch closer to the asphalt ex-factory. The result is entertaining agility that lets you attack corners as if laws of nature were just a suggestion. Like an overprotective nerd, the PASM system monitors everything: your speed, how abruptly you turn the wheel and how deeply you depress the pedal. Thanks to smart dampers with two-valve technology, the car filters out bumps like a floating carpet, but braces against leaning.
Because they know full well in Stuttgart that going a little sideways is quite entertaining, they also fit Torque Vectoring Plus as standard. This electronic limited slip differential on the rear axle distributes drive forces with surgical precision, so that you catapult out of the corner like a bullet. The rear software constantly thinks with you, adapting to your steering skills in a fraction of a millisecond.

Razor-sharp chassis
The foundation of this GTS is a razor-sharp chassis with front aluminum suspension with double wishbones. That sounds like complicated engineering jargon, but it simply means that the car has razor-tight steering and a ridiculously stable straight-line ride. At the rear, the brand mounts a special Performance rear axle, where they practically glued the electric motor to the rear bumper. It results in a rear-wheel-focused weight distribution of 48 percent front and 52 percent rear.
If you want to make it really absurdly agile, simply check the optional rear axle steering. At city speeds of up to eighty kilometers, the rear wheels are steered in a counter-clockwise direction by a maximum of five degrees. This makes parking in an impossibly tight urban space child’s play, because your turning circle shrinks by a full meter to only 11.1 meters.

Even more reasons
As far as we are concerned, there are two more good reasons to buy this car, quite apart from whether you like it or not. The strength of this Macan lies mainly in its steering feel. It is particularly clever how Porsche manages to mask its driveable weight of 2,470 kilograms. The GTS feels very nimble and offers plenty of feedback from the steering. You really don’t have to be an expert to notice that. Steering in this car is a treat. Period. In fact, it is one of the best steering electric SUVs today. The car always offers a maximum sense of control and is excellent at throwing itself into a corner. If Muhammed Ali had been a car, we’d end up with this Macan GTS. Like this iconic boxer, this GTS moves nimbly to maintain balance and respond quickly to input. Anyway, you get our point.
Second, the seating position is a reason to buy this car. You can be very active behind the wheel, which is by no means a given in an electric car. In the belly of this Macan, of course, there is also a battery pack. That battery pack snatches away some floor height, but you don’t notice much of that in this Macan. The steering column is excellently adjustable and the seating position is nice and low. The seats are also excellent. In short: every mile is enjoyment. It is clever that Porsche has accommodated both the sportier driver who likes to sit low and someone who likes to sit higher in the car, such as the lady of the house.
Conclusion review Porsche Macan GTS
Do you know the expression “That’s one to frame”? The an expression is often used for something so beautiful, special or memorable that it deserves a prominent place. This Porsche Macan GTS also qualifies, but above all, don’t just put it idle in the garage. You just want to drive this car every day. It is also practical enough for it, especially since the model not only has a roomy luggage compartment, but also a huge frunk. 84 liters fit in the front and 476 liters in the back. Folding down the back of the rear bench seat creates as much as 1,348 liters. In addition, the space in the rear is also excellent and the infotainment system responds at lightning speed to all forms of input. Loading? That happens at lightning speed. A more powerful Macan Turbo has become unnecessary with this GTS, as far as we are concerned. This is the electric Macan you want to drive every day, both on the A2 and in a cornering paradise in the Alps.
