Review – Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV 350 4Matic (2024)
Drive variants Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV
The Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV comes in several powertrain variants. Which ones they are, we are happy to explain to you. The Mercedes-Benz EQE is available starting at 83,480 euros.
In that case, you get the keys to the 300 version, with a system output of 180 kW (245 hp) and 90.6 kWh battery pack, good for 578 kilometers of range according to the WLTP test standard.
The EQE SUV 350+ with 96 kWh battery and 215 kW (292 hp) costs a minimum of 86,505 euros.
That variant gets 618 kilometers (WLTP) on paper.
The test car we drove is an EQE SUV 350 4Matic with 90.6 kWh battery, 292 hp of power and a range of 557 kilometers.
The price tag starts at 88,925 euros.
The absolute top model – excluding the AMG versions – is the EQE SUV 500 4Matic with 96 kWh battery, 300 kW (408 hp) and 594 kilometers of range.
The price starts at 96,185 euros.
AMG versions
So are there any AMG versions? Yes, of course! There is a choice between an EQE SUV 43 4Matic with 350 kW (476 hp) and an EQE SUV 53 4Matic+ with a whopping 459 kW (625 hp).
But then you are talking about prices of 131,000 and 150,000 euros, respectively.
The EQE SUV 350 4Matic AMG Line driven by us costs almost 121,000 euros due to the necessary options.
That includes Airmatic (2,117 euros), AMG Line Premium (7,865 euros) and illuminated running boards (756 euros).
Air suspension
The Airmatic air suspension allows you to give the EQE SUV a different character.
In Comfort mode, the car is particularly agile and soft suspension. That must be your thing. Fortunately, in Individual mode you can also adjust the hardness of the suspension.
Then the car is already a lot tighter on the road. To increase ground clearance, the vehicle level can be raised by up to 30 mm. In addition to the Dynamic Select driving programs “ECO,” “Comfort,” “Sport” and “Individual,” the EQE SUV models with 4MATIC also have the “Offroad” driving program for driving off the beaten track. Rear axle steering with a maximum steering angle of 10° is available as an option.
Disconnect Unit
Also a feature of the 4Matic versions.
These have a so-called Disconnect Unit (DCU).
This means that at low load, the powertrain disconnects the electric motor on the front axle – including the transmission.
This benefits energy consumption.

NO! – REVIEW – AutoRAI TV
EQE SUV 350 4Matic powertrain
To dig a little deeper into the technology in this EQE SUV 350 4Matic, the powertrain delivers 215 kW (292 hp) with a maximum torque of 765 Nm.
That’s enough power for a 0-100 time of 6.6 seconds and a top speed of 210 km/h.
The 90.56 kWh large lithium-ion battery can be charged with 11 kW of AC power, then a full charge from 0 to 100 percent takes about 9 hours and 30 minutes.
Fast charging (DC) can be done with a maximum charging power of 170 kW.
Then charging the battery from 10 to 80 percent takes only 32 minutes.
Mercedes-Benz lists an average energy consumption of about 18 to 19 kWh per 100 kilometers for the EQE SUV, but in practice you’re not going to achieve that.
An average consumption of 23 kWh per 100 kilometers is much more realistic at a temperature of 14 degrees, sunshine and the climate control at 20 degrees.
Oh yes, a heat pump is standard.
Dimensions Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV
Even though the Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV is one size smaller than the EQS SUV, the car is still upscale.
The car has a length of 4.96 meters, a width of 1.94 meters and a height of 1.69 meters.
The wheelbase is extremely large: a whopping 3.03 meters.
This results in particularly large interior space, especially in the rear.
There you can sit as an adult very well, too.
You also enjoy an armrest with phone holder and cup holders and two USB-C charging points.
The luggage compartment has a capacity of 520 liters, or 1,675 liters if you fold down the backrest.
Obese?
Light is not the EQE SUV, either.
The EQE SUV 350 4Matic we are driving weighs 2,460 kilograms.
It has a braked towing weight of 1,800 kilograms.
The EQE SUV 300 and 350+ are allowed to tow 750 kilograms braked.
The car has a hard time masking its hefty weight.
You sense from everything that you are traveling with the necessary kilograms.
The car is built on the EVA (Electric Vehicle Architecture) platform.
Points of interest Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV
- The car has very thick A-pillars, which take away a lot of visibility.
- You can influence the level of recovery, using the flippers behind the wheel to choose between no, normal or strong energy recovery.
The latter drives very pleasant. - The navigation system helps navigate with camera technology and an arrow system, very handy!
- Obnoxious reflection at night from ambient lighting in the side window.
- High-gloss black plastic reflects tremendously in sunlight.
Conclusion
The Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV is a car that pampers you.
Whether that is with luxury or the comfortable ride.
Above all, you come to rest in an EQE SUV.
In terms of technology, the model also stands its ground, but you should also realize that you can also enjoy the same amenities in other models for less money.
So you have to be a fan of Mercedes-Benz above all else.
