Refurbished Porsche 911 Carrera S ticks nearly 500 hp

January 13, 2025

Porsche 911 Carrera S

Within the Carrera series, the updated Porsche 911 Carrera S closes the gap between the standard Porsche 911 Carrera and the sportier Porsche 911 Carrera GTS. The powertrain of the new Porsche 911 Carrera S has been significantly improved and now delivers performance comparable to that of the previous generation Porsche 911 Carrera GTS.

As Coupe and Cabriolet

In addition, the new 911 Carrera S features extensive standard equipment and more options for personalization than the regular 911 Carrera. This makes the new model an attractive addition to the model range. The 911 Carrera S is available in both Coupe and Cabriolet versions.

Powertrain Porsche 911 Carrera S

The 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged six-cylinder boxer engine has been thoroughly redesigned for the new 911 Carrera S. Power has been increased to 353 kW (480 hp) with 530 Nm of torque, representing an increase of 22 kW (30 hp) over its predecessor. At the same time, emissions have been reduced. Porsche achieved this by installing new turbochargers and significantly improving cooling, among other things. The Coupe accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds and reaches a top speed of 308 km/h. Power is transmitted via an eight-speed PDK (Porsche Doppelkupplung) transmission.

Equipment

The standard equipment of the 911 Carrera S has been significantly expanded. The model comes with Matrix LED headlights, 20/21-inch Carrera S wheels, a sport exhaust system with silver exhaust pipes and Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV+), which is not available on the regular Carrera. The new braking system, adopted from the 911 Carrera GTS, offers a significant improvement in driving dynamics. This system, with red calipers and 408 mm front and 380 mm rear brake discs, delivers excellent braking performance.

Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake

For those seeking additional performance, optional upgrades are available, including the Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB) system and the PASM sports suspension. This sports suspension lowers the ride height by 10 millimeters and can be combined with rear-wheel steering. A front axle elevator system, HD-Matrix LED headlights and the Sport Chrono Package with the Porsche Track Precision App (ideal for track use) are also available as options.

Hydraulic damper system

The 911 Carrera S’s hydraulic damper system has been further optimized, resulting in improved handling, greater precision and more refined responsiveness. Steering, combined with rear-axle steering, has become more direct, and the kinematics of the front axle have been modified. This provides more agile and responsive handling, while stability at high speeds has also been significantly improved.

Interior Porsche 911 Carrera S

The interior of the 911 Carrera S reflects Porsche’s high standards of quality and exclusivity. Standard equipment includes a leather package in black, with seats, headrests, dashboard, door panels and the optional rear seating system in the Coupe upholstered in smoothly tanned, black leather. Folding rear seats are available at no extra charge as an alternative to the standard two-seat layout – the Cabriolet has a 2-seat rear seat as standard. An expanded leather interior is optionally available, with additional parts such as the glove box, side panels and seat base upholstered.

Pricey

The new Porsche 911 Carrera S can be ordered immediately as a Coupe or Cabriolet at the eight Dutch Porsche Centers. First deliveries will start in spring 2025. Prices start at 218,400 euros for the 911 Carrera S, the Cabriolet comes from 235,900 euros. Pricey, that’s for sure.
