RAM 1500 SRT TRX (2027): will undoubtedly be seen in the Netherlands with gray license plates
Return of the 6.2-liter HEMI V8
At the heart of the Ram 1500 SRT TRX is the 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI V8. This engine was previously available in the first generation TRX and now returns in a modified version. Maximum output is 777 hp, while torque is set at 680 lb-ft. This puts the output higher than the previous TRX generation.
The V8 is mated to a TorqueFlite 8HP95 eight-speed automatic transmission designed to handle high loads for long periods of time. Drive is via permanent all-wheel drive with an active transfer case. This combination allows the controlled availability of engine power under a variety of conditions.
Powertrain and performance in context
The Ram 1500 SRT TRX features Launch Control, which optimizes acceleration on closed stretches. In that configuration, the pickup accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds. The electronically limited top speed is 190 km/h. These values place the TRX within a specific niche of gasoline-powered performance pickups.
To supply the engine with sufficient air, Ram uses a dual-path induction system. Air is supplied through the grille and through an opening in the hood and gathered in a central air filter housing. The system is designed with attention to water drainage and protection from debris, which is consistent with its intended off-road use.

Four-wheel drive and transmission technology
The BorgWarner 48-13 transfer case offers multiple driving modes, including 4WD Auto, 4WD High and 4WD Low. In low gearing, the TRX features a gear ratio of 2.64:1. This allows for precise control at low speeds, such as when off-roading or maneuvering on unpaved surfaces.
The transmission can shift with fixed or variable shift points, depending on driving mode and load. Under both leisurely driving and full acceleration, the system adjusts the shifting strategy to make efficient use of the powertrain.
Undercarriage and suspension
The Ram 1500 SRT TRX’s suspension is specifically tuned for the weight and performance of the V8 engine. Up front, the pickup uses an independent suspension with forged aluminum wishbones. The front axle offers 13 inches of suspension travel.
At the rear, a Dana 60 rear axle with full floating axles and an electronic limited slip differential was used. The rear suspension is implemented as a five-link system with coil springs and offers up to 14 inches of suspension travel. This contributes to stability and control on uneven terrain.
The TRX is equipped with second-generation Bilstein Black Hawk e2 adaptive shock absorbers. These continuously adjust damping based on driving style, surface and vehicle movements. The system works in conjunction with Ram Active Terrain Dynamics, which takes into account, among other things, rapid compression and relief of the suspension.

Dimensions and positioning within the Ram range
The Ram 1500 SRT TRX has a ground clearance of 11.8 inches and is both wider and taller than the Ram 1500 Rebel. The wider track width is made possible by modified wishbones and fender extensions. As standard, the TRX is on 35-inch tires with 18-inch wheels. Beadlock-capable rims are optionally available.
Within the Ram lineup, the TRX positions itself above the Rebel and RHO as the most performance-oriented version, focusing on off-road capabilities and high engine output.
Exterior: functional design
The exterior design of the Ram 1500 SRT TRX is largely functional. The grille features a flow-through design for additional cooling, while the front and rear steel bumpers are equipped with towing eyes and protective elements. LED lighting is used all around, including marker lights in the hood and bumper.
At the rear, the TRX logo is incorporated into the tailgate, which incorporates a graphic reference to the model’s nomenclature. Optional rock rails or aluminum running boards are available, depending on the intended use.

Bloodshot Night Edition
In addition to the standard model, the Ram 1500 SRT TRX is available as a Bloodshot Night Edition. This variant is distinguished by a two-tone body finish, specific exterior graphics and custom interior details. Technically, this version does not differ from the regular TRX and is intended primarily as a visual differentiation within the lineup.
Interior and digital systems
The interior of the TRX joins the current Ram 1500 generation and utilizes the Atlantis electric platform. At the center is the 14.5-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen, complemented by a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. Drivers can choose from multiple driving modes, including Auto, Tow, Rock, Snow, Sport and Baja, with vehicle settings adjusted according to the mode selected.
New for the TRX is the standard application of Hands-Free Active Drive Assist (Level 2+). This system enables hands-free driving on selected highways and uses cameras to verify that the driver is paying attention to the road.
Comfort and finishing
The seats are upholstered in leather and suede and offer features such as heating, ventilation and massage. The rear seat is also adjustable and features heating and ventilation. The audio system consists of 19 speakers from Harman Kardon.
Finishes include a combination of leather, carbon fiber and aluminum, with controls deliberately designed to be robust. The floor lever, shift paddles and physical buttons are designed for use in a variety of conditions, including off-road driving.
The role of SRT within Aries
With the return of the TRX, the SRT badge also returns within the Ram lineup. The last Ram with SRT designation was the 2006 Ram SRT-10. The 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX thus marks a new phase in the application of SRT technology within the pickup segment, with an emphasis on powertrain development, suspension technology and integration of modern driver assistance systems.
Market launch
The Ram 1500 SRT TRX is expected in the second half of 2026. The starting price in the United States is $99,995, excluding additional costs. With that, the TRX targets a specific audience that values performance, technology and off-road capabilities within the full-size pickup segment. The pickup will be sold only via gray import in Europe and thus also in the Netherlands.
