Play UNO in the models of MINI
UNO in MINI
Mattel, AirConsole and MINI have added in-car gaming to the new MINI Family with UNO, the world’s most popular traditional card game.
UNO play was already possible in BMW models.
Now drivers of a new MINI can also now connect their passengers with UNO Car Party.
Here’s how it works
Connection is very easy through the infotainment system, using their own smartphone.
The car must be parked to enable play.
The game takes place on the OLED display running the MINI Operating System 9.
Game Rules UNO
UNO is a popular card game that is all about cleverly laying out cards and being the first to lose all your cards.
Here’s how the game works:
Game design
UNO is played with a special deck of 108 cards.
These cards consist of different colors (red, yellow, green and blue) and have numbers (0-9) or special symbols (action cards).
The game can be played with 2 to 10 players.
Goal of the game
The goal is to be the first player to get rid of all your cards.
The player who succeeds gets points based on the cards the opponents have left.
The game continues until someone reaches a pre-agreed number of points, for example 500 points.
Preparation
Each player is dealt 7 cards.
The rest of the cards are placed in a pile (the draw pile) and the top card of that pile is turned over to start the game (the discard pile).
Basic rules
- Take turns playing: The player must discard a card that has either the same color, number, or symbol as the card in the discard pile.
- No matching card: If a player cannot play a matching card, he must draw a card from the draw pile.
If he can play this card, he may do so immediately, otherwise the turn goes to the next player. - Action cards: In addition to the regular number cards, there are action cards that add an extra dimension to the game:
- Skip card: The next player loses a turn.
- Reverse card: The order of play reverses.
- Draw Two (+2): The next player must draw two cards and loses their turn.
- Wild card: The player may choose the color that will continue to be played.
- Wild Draw Four (+4): Player may choose the color and the next player must draw four cards and loses their turn (can only be played if you have no other options).
- Calling UNO: If a player has only one card left, he must shout “UNO.”
If he fails to do so and another player notices, the player must draw two cards as punishment.
Winning a round
When a player has discarded all his cards, the round is over.
The points of the opponents’ cards are counted and added to the score of the player who won.
Special cards have higher values:
- Number cards: points equal to their number.
- Skip, Reverse and Draw Two: 20 points each.
- Wild and Wild Draw Four: 50 points each.
End of the game
The game ends when a player reaches the agreed number of points (for example, 500).
This player then wins the game.
