Peugeot Inception Concept sounds promising
Vision of future Peugeot
With the Peugeot Inception Concept, the brand gives its vision of the Peugeot of the future. The study model also marks the start of a new era for cars based on new generation electric-powered platforms.
Peugeot is throwing everything in a different direction. The brand aims to reinvent the automotive experience. Peugeot is thoroughly redesigning the interior, introducing a new control concept aligned with the next-generation Peugeot i-Cockpit and, it says, creating new digital and physical experiences.
New design language
The Peugeot Inception Concept also indicates what Peugeot has in store in terms of automotive design. Features such as a cat-like stance and the familiar three-clawed light signatures of current models will be retained in the future.
Peugeot Inception Concept: new era for Peugeot
The Peugeot Inception Concept marks the beginning of a new era for the brand. The car previews the brand’s next-generation models, as well as features and technology that Peugeot customers can expect in their cars in the near future.
Linda Jackson, CEO of Peugeot, says: “2023 will be Peugeot’s electric year: as early as 2023, we will offer an electrified version of every Peugeot model. But we are also looking much further into the future. We will continue to rapidly expand our range of electrified models and introduce no less than 5 all-electric models in the next 2 years.”
Peugeot to be 100% electric by 2030
Jackson continued: “This means that Peugeot will already have a 100% electric offering across all models by 2025. At the same time, we are preparing for the launch of Peugeot’s next-generation e-Native models, based on new platforms designed for pure electric vehicles. This will be evident in the Peugeot Inception Concept that we will unveil in the coming weeks. The name says it all: the Peugeot Inception Concept opens the new 100% electric era for the Peugeot brand with a promise: as early as 2030, 100% of Peugeot models sold in Europe will be 100% electric.”
New Peugeut models for 2023
In 2023, Peugeot will introduce electric versions of the new 308 and 308 SW, as well as a new Peugeot e-208 with 15% more power (115 kW) and a 10.5% greater range (400 km). Hybrid versions of the Peugeot 3008 and 5008 will arrive in the same year. Plug-in hybrid versions of the new Peugeot 408 will also appear. There will soon be a choice of a 180-horsepower version or one with 225 horsepower.
