Pay attention: Speed camera marathon on European roads!
Flash marathon?
What exactly is a flash marathon?
It is a joint action of Roadpol, a cooperation between 29 European police forces.
Twice a year, they go to war together against speeders, with the aim of improving road safety.
According to Roadpol, speeding is one of the biggest causes of road accidents.
“Many accidents happen every day,” said a spokesperson.
“Often it is limited to property damage and a big scare, but unfortunately there are also incidents with injuries or worse.”
August 5 to 11
The checks run from Monday, August 5, through Sunday, August 11.
Not entirely coincidentally, this coincides with the busy vacation season.
Many people are heading out by car, so the chances of encountering a speed camera are extra high this week.
So, are you planning to hit the road in the coming week?
Turn on cruise control and stick to the speed limits.
