Opel is already coming out with additional sporty models this year – this is what you can expect
Opel GSe
The comeback of the GSe label began back in 2022, when Opel used the name for sporty plug-in hybrids including the Astra GSe and Grandland GSe. In that version, the three letters already stood for Grand Sport Electric. With the latest generation of GSe’s, the brand is changing course: the next generation of GSe models are not PHEVs, but fully electric.
Opel CEO Florian Huettl calls it a logical step: “Our GSe sub-brand stands for particularly dynamic, exciting and attractive Opel models. In 2025 we will take an important new step with GSe. The new GSe models will be fully electric. With this we are showing how powerful, exciting and inspiring battery-electric mobility can be.”

OMG! GSe
The launch is accompanied by an eye-catching campaign under the slogan ‘OMG! GSE’. ‘Oh my god’ should – we suspect – sum up the feeling that the new GSe models should bring about when you get behind the wheel. A short YouTube video entitled Three Letters has also appeared. Exactly which models Opel has in store remains unclear for now. Although we do see a silhouette popping up in the video that is very reminiscent of that of an Opel Mokka.
