Opel drops small ‘e’ and opts for Electric

Opel Rocks Electric

Opel offers several battery-electric models, think of the Corsa-e and Rocks-e. But those names are a thing of the past. As of now, there is talk of the Opel Corsa Electric, Opel Rocks Electric and Opel Mokka Electric. The 100 percent electric version of the Astra also listens to the name Opel Astra Electric. Other examples include the Combo Life Electric, Vivaro Electric and Zafira Life Electric.

Small ‘e’

Opel does stick with the subtle “e” on electric models. Similarly, the revamped Opel Corsa features a small “e” on the tailgate of the Corsa Electric. The name change should help make it easier for consumers to figure out which models are all-electric and which are not. Opel also uses a simple type designation for plug-in hybrids: Plug-in Hybrid.
