NIO ET9 also coming to Europe
The ET9 – also coming to Europe – was designed at the Design Center in Munich. The car contains 12 so-called Full Stack, NIO-developed technologies. According to the brand, this is the result of more than 6.96 billion euros of continuous R&D investment over ten years, including several world firsts and 1,083 patent applications. “With this technological foundation, the ET9 users can offer unprecedented luxury in the electric executive model segment,” the brand promises.
Lightful Welcome
The ET9 greets users with a Lightful Welcome via front and rear lighting, and creates a 2-square-meter light carpet on the side to welcome them. The combination of the “Sky Island” and the “Executive Bridge” naturally divides the interior into four exclusive spaces.
Ultra-wide seat cushion
With an ultra-wide seat cushion (582 mm), nearly 2 square meters of full-surface heating and a 16-point hot stone massage function, the ET9 offers every passenger a generous and premium travel experience, NIO promises. The exclusive relaxation mode can provide an ultra-comfortable experience via a single command. The versatile Executive Table located in the “Executive Bridge” can be adjusted 360° for extra easy reading or working. And with the smart refrigerator integrated into the “Executive Bridge,” a safe and a control panel that folds up and down, the ET9 offers a mobile meeting space that defines new standards for executive models.
Three new technologies
The NIO ET9 is the world’s first model to integrate the three key technologies, SkyRide Steer-by-Wire, SkyRide Rear-Wheel Steering and SkyRide Full Active Suspension, into a Smart EV chassis system. The ET9 uses the world’s first integrated hydraulic full active suspension. For the first time, this integrates the shock absorber with the active suspension electric drive unit, providing adaptation to an ultra-wide range of temporary adjustment options for stiffness, damping and height. With these technologies, the NIO ET9 represents the current industry standard in suspension technologies, providing users with a comfortable driving experience.
Steer-by-Wire
The NIO ET9 is the first model in China to obtain the steer-by-wire mass production certification from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Steer-by-wire is one of the essential basic components for more advanced smart vehicles and a core component for implementing L3 and higher-level autonomous driving functions in the future.
