New! Triumph Tiger Sport 800
The Triumph Tiger Sport 800 is completely new. Frame, engine, suspension and styling are not derivatives of the Tiger Sport 850. The 800cc three-cylinder engine in the Tiger Sport 800 produces 115 horsepower, while the 850 with its 880cc engine does not get beyond 85 horsepower! That’s already a world of difference. Maximum torque is 84 Nm against 82 Nm for the 850.
Triump Tiger Sport 800 raises bar
So on paper, the Tiger Sport 800 clearly raises the bar a few steps higher. It will arrive at dealerships in March 2025 and will start at 13,695 euros. That makes it even cheaper than the Tiger Sport 850 for which you have to pay a minimum of 14,395 euros. So if you have a little more patience, wait for that 800.
Proven frame construction
OK, now to the other ingredients for this brand new Tiger Sport 800. The frame is made of tubular steel. This is actually true of all frames in the Tiger family. A proven construction that makes for a rigid whole, containing the three-cylinder engine as the supporting part.
Wheel suspension from Showa
Triumph employs Showa suspension: the cartridge-type front fork with 41 mm diameter fork legs and a rear monoshock damper. Input and output damping are adjustable both front and rear. The Tiger Sport 800 has sleek bodywork with handsome headlights, including LED daytime running lights. There is no arguing about style but the design is definitely sleek and also differs from that of other members of the Tiger family.
Out of the wind
You can see from everything that much attention has been given to keeping the rider out of the wind. To the left and right, you see wide wind deflectors on the fairing. At the top, these are transparent. The fairing screen also fits tightly. The wind protection seems well done.
And comfort
Specifications point to comfort for longer trips. Take, for example, the standard cruise control and Thriumph Shift Assist as a quickshifter. And with this brand, those always work superbly. There are three driving modes to choose from: Sport, Road and Rain. An IMU ensures that ABS and traction control also intervene appropriately when cornering to curb slip and slide. Radially mounted four-piston calipers and dual 310 mm front brake discs, coupled with a single-piston caliper and 255 mm rear disc, provide the deceleration.
Complete case set
LED lighting, the multi-function LCD and TFT dashboard with turn-by-turn navigation and Bluetooth phone connectivity are standard. There are 40 accessories available, ranging from an Akrapovič slip-on muffler with a titanium shell and carbon fiber end cap, to a full luggage kit, including panniers that fit perfectly on the integrated mounting points and a top case with room for as many as two helmets.
