New Toyota RAV4 forms basis for new Suzuki Across

Toyota and Suzuki have an intimate relationship. The Toyota Corolla Touring Sports is in Suzuki’s showroom as Swace, and the new Toyota Urban Cruiser was developed in collaboration with Suzuki. At Suzuki, that model listens to the name E-Vitara. The new generation Suzuki Across again uses RAV4 building blocks.

Successor Suzuki Across

“There will be a successor to the Suzuki Across. We expect it in the first quarter of 2026,” the Suzuki Nederland spokesperson can confirm to AutoRAI.nl. “More information will be announced at a later date, but once again the RAV4 will form the basis.”

Technical data

So the new Suzuki Across will once again be a plug-in hybrid. With the RAV4, there is a choice of a Plug-in Hybrid 270 and Plug-in Hybrid 300. Whether Suzuki will supply both powertrains is not yet clear. In the case of the RAV4, only the 304-hp 300 version has a braked towing weight of 2,000 kilograms. The version with 268 hp (270) has to make do with 800 kilograms. The electric driving range of the new RAV4 comes out to 100 kilometers, according to the WLTP test standard. Count on the same performance for the new Suzuki Across. The new Toyota RAV4 will arrive on the Dutch market in early 2026.
