New BMW M5 is MotoGP Safety Car
Striking color scheme
The special livery of the BMW M5 MotoGP Safety Car is derived from the design of the BMW M Hybrid V8 race cars, with which BMW M Motorsport competes in the FIA World Endurance Championship with races such as the 24 Hours of Le Mans and in the IMSA series in North America.
Specific adaptations
As with all safety cars, BMW M GmbH has made specific modifications for track use.
Numerous BMW M Performance parts have been installed, including carbon front mounts, an aramid diffuser at the rear, carbon sideskirts, carbon-titanium exhaust pipes and a carbon tank cap.
With Recaro seats!
Special features include safety car roof rails, a front splitter, Recaro seats, six-point racing belts, a fire extinguisher and a fuel intake pump for overseas transport.
On Saturday, Sept. 7, the new BMW M5 MotoGP Safety Car saw its first action at the Gran Premio Red Bull di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini in Misano.
