NATO summit: French president’s ‘The Beast’! – Walkaround – AutoRAI TV

The French head of state previously participated in the May 8, 1945 Victory Day celebrations in Presidential DS N°8. This makes him the first president of a republic in the world with an official vehicle that is 100% electric. AutoRAI.nl will exclusively receive the keys to this French state limousine. What makes this car unique?

DS Automobiles is court supplier

Besides the DS 19 used by General Charles de Gaulle in 1958 – and also in 1962 during the Petit-Clamart attack – later models included the presidential DS 21, lengthened to 6.53 meters by coachbuilder Henri Chapron in 1968, and Georges Pompidou’s SM in 1972 (also lengthened by Chapron, to 5.60 meters and built in duplicate). The DS Automobiles brand has maintained close ties with the French presidency for decades. In 2012, François Hollande used a DS 5 for his inauguration, which later also became his official vehicle. Then the Presidential DS 7 Crossback appeared during Emmanuel Macron’s inauguration – and again in September 2023, during King Charles III’s visit to Paris. Since November 2021, the DS 7 Élysée has been the official model of the French presidency. Now the Presidential DS N°8 continues this long tradition.
