My Porsche and I are going on a road trip and taking with us…?

RVs are hot. But curbing the Transfăgărășan, Atlantic Ocean Road or the Route Napoleon with that is like trying to wash an African elephant in a jacuzzi. And towing a caravan, no matter how versatile and comfortable it can be, behind your 911 or Taycan is just not something you do. Pure sacrilege. A star hotel offers a solution, of course, but let the better road trips often meander where there is no such thing in sight. In short, a chill cum overnight place that can also be conjured out of your Porsche in the middle of nowhere is the ultimate accommodation during a road trip.

Drop it where it’s hot

Well, Porsche Tequipment now has one of those ultimate mobile sleeping places in its portfolios. Intended for the 911, Taycan and Panamera. While this official Porsche accessory also fits on the roof of a Macan and Cayenne, but – say it yourself – those models don’t lend themselves as well to an epic road trip on the world’s best steering roads.

Room with a view

When folded, the roof tent by Porsche Tequipment looks like a ski trunk that has grown out of its size. The design comes from the Weissach Development Centre in collaboration with Studio F.A. Porsche. Optimal aerodynamics guaranteed therefore. Once the rooftop tent is fully unfolded, it provides an accommodation with a floor area of 210×130 cm. That will be nice and cozy spooning when you’re not alone.

A mattress is included and to allow the tent to be used during all 4 seasons, the tent fabric and zippers are waterproof. Several typical Porsche details such as special piping and Porsche logos complete the picture. If you look closely at the shape of the window openings, you will even recognize the 911 silhouette in them. Finally, the price; it is 4,980 euros in Germany.
