MUTT DRK-01: nice gadget
Founded in 2012, MUTT Motorcycles focuses mainly on scrambler-style models in the 125 and 250 cc class. A new model is the DRK-01 and it is actually quite nice to see. Light, sturdy and with what appears to be an excellent finish.
Liquid-cooled for the first time
The top model is the 250 ABS Deluxe. For the first time, MUTT applies a liquid-cooled 250cc single cylinder with double overhead camshaft and 4 valves from CF Moto. Power is more than 50% higher than in the air-cooled 250 and now comes to 20 kW (27 hp). An up-side-down front fork was fitted for lower unsprung weight and thus better handling and roadholding. The brakes also received an upgrade with a large floating brake disc and a radially mounted double-piston caliper in the front wheel.
Modern classic design by MUTT
The design is completely new and is best described as modern classic. For example, the bike has particularly nice outer-spoked rims, which are thus suitable for tubeless tires. Further details that stand out include the rubber logo on the tank, the many CNC-milled, black anodized aluminum parts, the short sporty muffler and the dynamic LED lighting all around.
125cc models to follow later
The DRK-01 250 ABS Deluxe is available immediately and costs 5850 euros ready to ride. Later this year, the 125cc models and standard models (with conventional front forks and normal wire wheels) will also be available.
