Morgan working on new premium model with six-cylinder
‘CXV’ platform
The yet-to-be-named model will stand on a new so-called “CXV” platform, an evolution of the existing bonded aluminum chassis introduced in 2019 for the Plus Six and Plus Four. Morgan has not yet released more details, except that the model will get a six-cylinder.
The new CXV platform is lighter and stiffer – combined with the BMW turbocharged six-cylinder engine – and includes a range of new engineering features and technical improvements, all contributing to greater dynamic performance and driving enjoyment. Although the images do not show the final design of the production vehicle, the new flagship will be instantly recognizable as a Morgan, while projecting a more contemporary aesthetic and aerodynamically informed proportion.
The new flagship model comes after the November 2024 announcement that the Plus Six will cease production. A limited run of Plus Six Pinnacle models marks the last examples of the now sold-out model. The new model – while not a direct replacement for the Plus Six – will occupy a rightful position at the top of Morgan’s model lineup.
