More range for Opel Corsa Electric, Peugeot e-208 and Lancia Ypsilon
Range
In the case of the Opel Corsa Electric, the driving range has increased by 24 kilometers to 429 kilometers according to the WLTP test standard. In the case of the Lancia Ypsilon Electric, the driving range is now 425 kilometers, a gain of 22 kilometers. Of the trio of Corsa, e-208 and Ypsilon, the Peugeot has the greatest driving range. On paper, the Peugeot E-208 now achieves up to 433 km (WLTP combined cycle) on a full charge of electricity for the version with the 115 kW (156 hp) strong electric motor. That an increase of 23 km.
Energy consumption
As the drive system has also become more efficient, the three models are also more energy-efficient. The energy consumption of the electric Opel Corsa is now 14.2 kWh per 100 kilometers versus 14.3 kWh per 100 kilometers for the Lancia Ypsilon. The Peugeot is slightly more economical than the Corsa and Ypsilon due to the shape of the car.
There are also other updates
All new Peugeot E-208 models feature the following new equipment:
- A new multifunctional video camera that increases safety by expanding the detection area of the automatic emergency braking function, with better recognition of cyclists and pedestrians
- A new body color: Okenite White (replaces Ice White), available for the entire model line
- A new product name for the hybrid engines: the HYBRID 100 hp and HYBRID 136 hp are now called HYBRID 110 hp and HYBRID 145 hp, to better reflect the total combined power of gasoline engine and electric motor. PEUGEOT thus anticipates a future requirement of the Euro 7 emissions standard
Adjustments Lancia
At the same time, Lancia has also made an important change to the Ypsilon Hybrid, choosing to be more transparent about the actual power available. The model goes from a stated power output of 100 to 110 horsepower: the total of the performance delivered by the combustion engine and the electric motor integrated into the 48-volt system. This choice was made in anticipation of the Euro 7 regulations, which from November 2027 will require all hybrid models to state their combined power, not just that of the combustion engine. The new Ypsilon Hybrid has a system output of 81 kilowatts, the equivalent of 110 horsepower, coming from a 74 kW combustion engine and a maximum electric contribution of 21 kW. No changes have been made to the technical system, performance or consumption. Everything under the hood is the same, but now it is more transparent and in line with changes in the market.
