MINI Electric Cabrio remains more exclusive than Lamborghini
MINI Electric Cabrio: only 999 units
The MINI Electric Cabrio will be available in Europe from April 2023 in a very limited edition of 999 units. The MINI Electric Cabrio will be produced alongside the regular MINI Cabrio at VDL Nedcar in Born, Limburg. Made in Holland so, this limited edition! The Netherlands, by the way, will get 30 copies. Cheap the car is not: the recommended retail price is 62,990 euros, full-option. That’s more expensive than a new BMW i4. So you must want it very badly. A full-option MINI Electric hatchback costs about 41,000 euros.
Success MINI Electric in the Netherlands
“Now, three years after the introduction of the MINI Electric, one in five MINIs sold in Europe is an all-electric MINI. In the Netherlands, in fact, this is already more than one in four. This success has encouraged us to set up a small series production for the MINI Electric Cabrio within a few months. I am delighted to announce that we can offer 999 MINI customers the Go-Kart feeling in the open air,” says Stefanie Wurst, Head of MINI.
Two colors and durable wheels
The MINI Electric Cabrio is available in Enigmatic Black and White Silver. Door handles, side scuttles and the front and taillight surrounds are finished in Resolute Bronze. The MINI logos and model designation are finished in Piano Black. The e-logo, as familiar from the MINI Electric, can be found on the front bumper and rear. The trims and side scuttles are also unique. The 17-inch alloy wheels in Electric Power Spoke 2-tone design are made of 100 percent secondary aluminum.
Interior MINI Electric Cabrio
The sports seats come in MINI Yours Leather Lounge design and feature seat heating and adjustable lower leg support. The steering wheel is finished with Nappa leather. Yellow interior accents emphasize the all-electric drive of the open four-seater, such as the yellow start/stop button.
Powertrain
The 135 kW (184 hp) strong electric motor comes from the regular MINI Electric hatchback. The electric drive allows the MINI Electric Cabrio to accelerate from standstill to 100 km/h in 8.2 seconds. The range comes out to 201 km (WLTP).
Practicalities
With a length of 3,863 mm, a wheelbase of 2,495 mm, a width of 1,727 mm and a luggage space with a volume of 160 liters, the dimensions remain unchanged compared to the MINI Cabrio with fuel engine. The fully power-operated soft top opens and closes at speeds up to 30 km/h and can also be partially opened like a sunroof.
