Mercedes-Benz gives all 93,000 German employees giant bonus

January 23, 2023

Excellent year

Mercedes-Benz turned in an excellent year in 2022. Quite a few cars were sold, with solid profit margins. Since 1997, employees have benefited from the brand’s success. After a very profitable year in 2021, all German permanent employees received an additional 6,000 euros in 2022. This year, the bonus amount is even higher.

Much achieved

In April, 93,000 German permanent employees will receive a bonus of 7,952 euros on top of their normal salary. The German tax authorities chop some of that off, but a tidy sum remains: 7,300 euros.

“Together we have achieved a lot in 2022,” said Sabine Kohleisen, member of the Mercedes-Benz Board of Management and responsible for Human Resources. “Despite challenging circumstances, our team has taken another major step toward the successful transformation of our company. In recognition of these achievements, we have agreed with the General Works Council to pay a special bonus of 7,300 euros this year. This amount is significantly above the previous maximum amount. With the highest profit-sharing bonus in the company’s history, we would like to express our gratitude for the exceptional dedication and personal commitment of our colleagues.”
