Man evicted from bus and abandoned on A12
Rijkswaterstaat
For more than a decade, the Twitter account of Rijkswaterstaat Traffic Information has managed to entertain us. In addition to all the latest traffic information, you’ll also come across the strangest scenes taking place on the Netherlands’ road network in the account’s timeline. And more strange activities happen on the road than you might think. Consider, for example, the photo below, which the Department of Public Works threw up on Twitter in July. Pictured is a Leopard 2A6, the Netherlands Army’s heaviest combat tank. He had crashed into a noise barrier on the A12. You can read how that was here.
A12
The image that the Department of Public Works hurled on Twitter this morning creates at least as many question marks. Once again, the scene takes place on the A12. In the image – which appears to be a screenshot from a traffic camera – we see a freshly dressed man standing on the hard shoulder along the A12 near Harmelen. On the guardrail is his luggage: several suitcases and some plastic bags.
Coach
What exactly is going on is not made clear from the tweet. According to a Twitter user, the man was ejected from an Eastern European coach. A road inspector has since been on the scene and the man has been removed from the road.
