Lucid Motors Europe gets Dutch top executive: Michael van der Sande

You may know Van der Sande as the top executive of Special Vehicles Operations (SVO) at Jaguar Land Rover. He was also at the helm of Bowler, was the Senior Vice President of Marketing at Groupe Renault between October 2013 and February 2016, and served as Managing Director at Alpine Cars between February 2016 and April 2018. In short: quite a bit of experience in automotive.

Great car enthusiast

Van der Sande is also a huge car enthusiast, as we have noticed during several interviews in recent years. “After a short break, I recently started as Managing Director at Lucid Erope. It is fantastic to return to the Netherlands after a period of 28 years abroad,” said Michael van der Sande. “I am also extremely excited about this new challenge and look forward to working with other Lucid colleagues in the currently four European countries in which we operate, namely the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland and Norway.”

Lucid Air

Lucid is the manufacturer of an extremely special electric sedan, the Lucid Air. It is our first car that we will sell in Europe. The Lucid Air Dream Edition has 1,111 horsepower and sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.7 seconds. Also, this car has a WLTP range of 883 kilometers. The Lucid Air is on display at so-called Lucid Studios, currently located in Munich, Geneva, Hilversum and soon in Oslo.
