August 27, 2024

Kia EV6 success number

Kia has already sold more than 210,000 units of the EV6 since its launch in August 2021.
So you can safely call that EV6 a success number.
By updating the model a bit, Kia hopes to maintain the EV6’s sales momentum.
At the front, the Star Map signature lights stand out.
From the side, the redesigned EV6 stands out with its newly designed alloy wheels.
At the rear, the lighting units also feature the signature Star Map technology.
The new front bumper and rear bumper now feature a wing-shaped design.

The updated EV6 GT-line stands out with sportier-looking front and rear bumpers, a central LED lighting unit and special alloy wheels.
From now on, the EV6 can also be equipped with new frequency selective dampers.
Kia has additionally focused on reducing interior noise by improving the rear engine insulation.

Interior Kia EV6 2024

The interior of the redesigned EV6 also received updates.
There is talk of a new steering wheel, a panoramic curved display and new ambient lighting.
A fingerprint recognition system is now also integrated into the center console, allowing EV6 drivers to start the car without a smart key or digital key, load their driver profile and identify themselves to access other services.
The wireless charging station of the redesigned EV6 can now charge with 15W of power.

To take comfort and convenience to an even higher level, the updated EV6 is now available with a power-adjustable steering wheel (height and depth) and a 12-inch Head-Up Display.

Improved battery technology

Kia equips the updated EV6 with a new battery.
Thanks to higher energy density, capacity has increased in all versions: from 58 kWh to 63 kWh for the Standard Range and from 77.4 kWh to 84 kWh for the Long Range.
Depending on the version, the maximum driving range is therefore now 582 km according to the WLTP test standard.

Quick charger charging

The larger batteries charge faster than their predecessors.
With advanced 800V technology and an improved peak power of 258 kW, the new 84 kWh battery can charge from 10-80 percent in 18 minutes and can top up to 343 km in just 15 minutes.
The new generation of batteries has improved thermal conductivity, which helps to better regulate temperature during charging.
In addition, the battery is now one kilogram lighter despite its 8.5 percent greater capacity.

Kia EV6

Software Defined Vehicle

Another major update is the next-generation infotainment system, based on the brand’s new Software Defined Vehicle (SDV) architecture.
The Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC) offers an unprecedented overview and ease of use and is upgradeable and updateable via OTA.
Linked to this system include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the optional Kia Digital Key 2 and the  fingerprint recognition system.

Driving assistance systems Kia EV6

The arsenal of assistance systems has also been further expanded or upgraded.
New or updated are the Hands-on Detection steering wheel, Lane Following Assist 2, Remote Smart Parking Assist 2 and Front, Side & Rear Parking Collision-avoidance Assist.
To take safety to an even higher level, the updated EV6 has received a stronger body thanks to thicker B-pillars, and it is equipped with a comprehensive airbag system with seven airbags, including a front center airbag for maximum safety for the driver and front passenger.

From the end of September in the Netherlands

The updated Kia EV6 is expected to arrive in Dutch showrooms in late September.
The lineup, prices, equipment details and technical data will be announced by Kia ahead of the market launch.
