Jaguar Classic E-type Commemorative: 2 more E-types!
Jaguar Classic E-type Commemorative
Each copy of the Jaguar Classic E-type Commemorative features references to key moments in E-type history, from the blueprint at its inception to the latest Series III models. Jaguar speaks of Jaguar Classic’s finest Works Bespoke creations. Both examples of the Jaguar Classic E-type Commemorative fully bring the story of the E-type to life – inspired by the last fifty 1974 Commemorative Editions – and are the only two ever to leave Jaguar Classic’s workshop.
Built with meticulous attention
The Jaguar Classic E-type Commemorative is the ultimate expression of the Jaguar E-type. Unique, hand-crafted elements make both examples a covetable collector’s item. Every detail, inside and out, has been crafted with meticulous attention by dedicated Jaguar Classic experts and translated into upgrades meticulously executed over more than 2,000 labor hours.
As a dophead coupe (convertible)
Both examples of the Jaguar Classic E-type Commemorative are finished as a drophead coupe (convertible). One features the body color Signet Green and the other is finished in Opal Black – both modern interpretations of the original 1974 colors.
Unique, woven finish
The elegant exterior is complemented by the timeless interior, featuring seat covers in Bridge of Weir tan leather, hand woven and stitched in Jaguar Classic’s workshop – with a matching leather interior finish in black and tan. Never before provided by Jaguar Classic, this unique woven finish combines traditional skills and design with a contemporary aesthetic.
Interior
Custom elements further adorn the interior, such as the anodized aluminum-finished center console that bears a unique engraving of an original blueprint of an early Series I E-type, sourced from the archives. This blueprint was previously displayed along with the E-type at the New York Museum of Modern Art (MOMA). The anodized aluminum center console has become a hallmark of every Jaguar Classic E-type.
Custom-made precious metal forgings
The unique and exclusive character of both models is also due to the precious metal work provided by Deakin & Francis, England’s oldest jewelry maker that has been making masterful creations for seven generations since 1786. In collaboration with passionate and artisan silversmiths, the Jaguar Classic E-type Commemorative is embellished with details in mother of pearl, silver (with hallmark) and 18-carat gold. In the same spirit as Jaguar Classic, these renowned silversmiths practice their craftsmanship. They work to the highest standards in Birmingham’s legendary Jewellery Quarter.
On the front of the Jaguar Classic E-type Commemorative, the nameplate is finished in silver with guilloche mother-of-pearl and an 18-karat gold Growler icon. The rear badges are made of enameled sterling silver. In the interior, the horn button on the steering wheel is finished in silver with an 18-carat Growler badge and mother-of-pearl inlay. The gear knob made of sterling silver features mother of pearl and 18-carat gold Growler details.
Switches
The refined decoration extends to the switches on the dashboard. These are finished in ribbed silver and a silver ring with a hallmark. This attention to detail is also reflected in the key holder, which is finished in silver with matching mother of pearl and 18-karat gold.
Technical specifications
Under the hood of the Jaguar Classic E-type Commemorative lies Jaguar’s famed 3.8-liter six-cylinder in-line gasoline engine, equipped with electronic fuel injection and mated to a Jaguar Classic five-speed manual transmission. This combination offers the perfect balance of driving pleasure and daily convenience.
To make the authentic models even more usable in this day and age, they are also equipped with a discreetly integrated Jaguar Classic audio system with Bluetooth connectivity and a heatable windshield. In doing so, they offer modern comfort without compromising the charm and authenticity of a Jaguar E-type’s interior.
