ID.3 Pure: less power and driving range, but substantially lower price tag

June 19, 2024

ID. 3 Pure

The recently updated ID.3 is now available with a smaller battery and a less powerful electric motor. In addition to the 58 and 77 kWh batteries, interested parties can now choose a 52 kWh battery. Where the larger batteries send their power to a 150 kW (204 hp) electric motor, the smaller one does so to a 125 kW (170 hp) motor. The new combination provides a WLTP range of 388 kilometers. By comparison, with 58 kWh/150 kW, the ID.3 kicks in at 429 kilometers, and with the 77 kWh/150 kW combination, the German EV gets as far as 559 kilometers. Fast charging can make the ID.3 Pure with up to 145 kWh.

Lower price tag

The new Pure version will first enter the market as the ID.3 Pure Orange Edition with a starting price of 35,990 euros. This makes it 4,000 euros cheaper than the 58 kWh version and 8,000 euros cheaper than an ID.3 with 77 kWh in the bottom. As with other ID. models, the ID.3 includes up to 7 years of maintenance and 8 years of factory warranty (or up to 160,000 km) on the battery. There is also free 24-hour roadside assistance within Europe.
