Genesis GV60 Magma: new era for Korean premium brand
Genesis GV60 Magma: less brutal numbers, more driving experience
For the ambitious Genesis, the GV60 Magma is not just another new model, but the beginning of a whole new era. The luxury brand of South Korean automaker Hyundai Motor Group sees Luxury High Performance as a fusion of balance, control, refinement and power – less focused on brute numbers, more on the total driving experience. Or as Genesis design boss Luc Donckerwolke puts it, “Magma adds adrenaline to our DNA.”
The GV60 Magma will first appear in Korea, followed by Europe and North America in 2026. In the Netherlands, we will first welcome the three all-electric models GV60, Electrified GV70 and Electrified G80 before we can look forward to the GV60 Magma.

Understated, powerful design
The design of the GV60 Magma is a direct translation of the Magma philosophy: understated but emphatic. The wider wheelbase, lower body and new front bumper with three air intakes create a powerful appearance. High-gloss black accents, 21-inch forged Magma wheels and extra-wide tires (275 mm) underline the sporty character of the GV60 Magma. At the rear, a spoiler provides additional downward pressure and a diffuser optimizes aerodynamics.
Inside the Korean sports car is all about luxury and refinement. Materials like Chamude – a premium suede-like material – are combined with orange accents and dark metal details. The Magma steering wheel and special boost and drive mode buttons set the tone: this is a cockpit for pure experience.

From 0-200 km/h in just 11 seconds
One of the most powerful models within Hyundai Motor Group, the GV60 Magma delivers up to 478 kW (650 hp) and 790 Nm in Boost Mode. Top speed is 264 km/h and with Launch Control it sprints from 0 to 200 km/h in 10.9 seconds.
The suspension tuning – including Electronic Control Suspension and special dampers – is designed for maximum control as well as comfort. Thanks to extensive sound insulation, the cabin remains surprisingly quiet, even with the wide performance tires.
The GV60 Magma features its own digital interface, with a Magma Mode that displays real-time performance such as G-forces and boost time. Features such as Virtual Gear Shift System (which simulates shifting moments), Drift Mode and High-Performance Battery Control make the driving experience even more intense.

Magma GT Concept: exciting preview
At Circuit Paul Ricard, the Magma GT Concept also made its debut. This study model shows razor-sharp where Genesis wants to go in the coming years with its sporty plans. In realizing them, the South Koreans are not exactly dreaming small: the Magma GT should grow into a true performance icon.
The low nose, tightly sloping roofline, wide wheel arches, integrated front canards, G-Matrix air conduction and recognizable boat-tail cockpit give the Magma GT Concept the silhouette of a thoroughbred GT race car. The center-rear engine – the same configuration as the GMR-001 Hypercar – even makes the study model a possible basis for a Magma GT3. But that’s just future music for now. In any case, Genesis makes no secret of its desire to eventually participate in GT racing.
