Formula 1: Bahrain GP 2022
Time flies. Not so long ago, the whole of the Netherlands was euphoric when Max won the world championship in the last round. Now Verstappen can prepare for a new season. Normally, Australia will kick off the season, but due to the pandemic it has been decided that the first race will be in Bahrain for the 2021 and 2022 seasons.

Bahrain 2021 winner and podium
The winner of the Bahrain GP in 2021 was Lewis Hamilton, despite Max Verstappen being allowed to start from pole. The Dutchman finishes second and Valtteri Bottas third. Bahrain has proved to be a circuit that suits Hamilton well in the past three years, because the Briton was also the first to cross the finish line in 2020 and 2019.

What happened in 2021?
In qualifying, Verstappen took pole position, Hamilton P2 and Bottas P3. Max’s teammate, Sergio Perez falls short for Q3 and qualified disappointingly in P11. Pierre Gasley in the AlphaTauri surprisingly takes fifth place in the grid. Sebastian Vettel receives a grid penalty for ignoring a yellow flag and must start the race from last place. The race on Sunday started with a setback for Red Bull and Sergio Perez. Due to software problems, it seemed that the Mexican had to let the race pass. The Red Bull mechanics managed to get the car up and running, but that meant Perez had to start from the pits. An unbelievable catch-up race follows and he eventually finishes in fifth place. Fernando Alonso and Nikita Mazepin received a DNF, respectively, due to brake problems and a crash in the third corner after the start.
What are we going to pay attention to?
Of course we will keep an eye out for Verstappen, who will be driving a race with number ‘1’ on his car for the first time. Speaking of the car, all drivers will race in their brand new cars for the first time this weekend. We are also curious about the interpretation of the position of Masi, who had to clear the field and is replaced by a duo with the support of a video referee. In addition, this race weekend will be the debut of streaming service Viaplay .
A lot has also changed on the grid. We will pay extra attention to the newcomers. Like Albon, who is back in F1 driving for Williams, or Kevin Magnussen , who replaces Nikita Mazepin at the last minute at Haas. Alfa Romeo will start 2022 with no fewer than two new drivers: Valtteri Bottas and rookie Zhou Guanyu. Of course we are also curious what Russell can do at Mercedes.
