Ford Ranger: best-selling pickup truck in Europe for ten years

February 14, 2025

60,400 Rangers by 2024

Pretty clever, when you’ve been the best-selling car in the pickup segment for ten years in a row. Still, it’s the truth with the Ford Ranger. In Europe, 60,400 Rangers were purchased last year, a 4% plus over the previous year. The Ranger accounted for nearly half of all pickup sales in Europe in 2024, good for a segment share of 43.6% – up 1.3 percentage points from last year.

Europe’s favorite pickup

“The foundation of Ranger’s decade as Europe’s favorite pickup is a thorough understanding of our customers and how they use their pickups. Our all-new Ranger PHEV leverages electric power to take the pickup experience to the next level,” said Hans Schep, general manager of Ford Pro Europe. “The Ranger PHEV combines more torque than ever before with the ability to power demanding tools and equipment, whether on a construction site or camping, and the ability to drive all-electric, which represents a huge step forward in pickup truck productivity.”

Also successful in the Netherlands

The Ford Ranger was the best-selling pickup in its segment in 2024 in the Netherlands, and in four other European markets the Ranger accounted for more than half of all pickups sold: Ireland (54.2 percent), Germany (53.9 percent), Great Britain (52.4 percent) and Belgium (50.1 percent). Several markets saw significant segment share growth over the previous year, including Poland (18.6 percentage points), Spain (9.3 percentage points), Norway (6.1 percentage points), Great Britain (5.3 percentage points) and Italy (3.4 percentage points).
