Ford Puma Gen-E will soon offer even longer driving pleasure … as well as BlueCruise
So good news for everyone who enjoyed that: starting next year, you’ll be able to drive even more nicely. Not because Ford has reinvented the wheel, but because the electric Puma simply goes further on one battery charge. Oh, and BlueCruise will be added.
More driving range for the Puma Gen-E
Ford has optimized battery technology for the 2026 model year. Indeed, the range goes from 376 kilometers to more than 400 kilometers WLTP, based on a battery pack with 43.6 kWh capacity. In the city, it even ticks well above 550 kilometers, according to Ford. In other words: fewer charging stops, more playtime.
But … you don’t always have to steer yourself
And yes, there it is: the beautiful contradiction. Because while you can enjoy the fine steering feel longer, Ford is also introducing BlueCruise in the Puma Gen-E, alongside the fuel-engine Puma, Kuga and Ranger PHEV. On designated highways, the Blue Zones, the system simply takes the wheel from you. Hands loose, shoulders down, gaze forward: the Puma maintains its own lane, regulates speed and distance, while a camera checks to make sure you’re paying attention. This is possible, by the way, if you have the Driver Assistance Pack on your Ford.
The character fortunately remains the same
These updates do not change the basics we previously raved about. The low center of gravity, direct steering, dynamics and, of course, the practical space of this compact crossover remain. The only thing that gets different, read better, is the driving range and the addition of BlueCruise. So, then you can either steer even more, or leave just that to the Puma. It just depends on what you get your driving pleasure from.
