For sale in the Netherlands: one of the very first AMGs!

February 1, 2023

One of the first AMGs

This particular 1977 Mercedes-Benz 280E W123 is for sale by our friends at Auto Leitner, the address where gems can often be found. Now it is one of the very first AMG models. The 280E W123 was taken to AMG by its first owner on April 21, 1981 and rebuilt. Original 1977 purchase receipt and 1981 AMG invoices are present!

As much as 210 hp

The AMG of today is in no way comparable to the AMG of then. Current AMG models are serious performance models with outlandish power. Even an A 45 S AMG 4Matic+ kicks it up to 421 hp. No, this Mercedes-Benz 280E AMG W123 received a power boost of no less than 25 hp after applying the AMG tuning package, thanks in part to AMG camshafts. The 2.8-liter six-cylinder now kicks up to 210 horsepower.
